Just read a great article on how councillors in the Hamilton area are allowing urban farms, community gardens and faem stands in reaidential and institutional areas, open space and parks.
I remember watching a ted talk( http://youtu.be/EzZzZ_qpZ4w) on how residents of Compton started growing gardens on their boulevards bc fresh produce wasn't acessible. Having farms and fresh produce so close here in Clarington makes us extremely lucky. The hamilton article is somewhat similar.
We have so much open space in Clarington. Why not visit this idea. Create community gardens which will bring residents and the community together over a lunch or dinner that was made with the local bounty.
